Village Signs
The funding information supplied by Awsworth Parish Council for two shared village signs was discussed, (Shilo Way and Bennerley Way).
It was proposed by the chair that should there be no grant funding available, we pay £1,208.59, which is half the total cost of the two signs.
This was seconded by Councillor Mrs E. Harrison and all were in agreement.
It is of course hoped that 25% or 50% of this cost will be in the form of a grant from Broxtowe Borough Council.
Cost of fixing the signs was not discussed as it is expected that this will be covered by Avant Homes.
Artwork for the centre area of the signs was discussed and the preferred option was a black and white image of the church if this can be located by Councillor Mrs S. Wheatley. If this is not available (and if suitable for printing), the second choice is a colour photo of the church and failing that the third choice is the road speed limit.
These choices were proposed by the chair and seconded by Councillor Mrs E. Harrison and all were in agreement.
Inform APC of our decision
Cllr. Mrs S. Wheatley to try to locate black and white image of the Church.
Defibrillators
Seal Medical supplies, who service our defibrillators, have been informed that the battery packs for our unit Lifepak CR Plus are going to be discontinued from this month. The options were that we try to purchase a battery for around £250 and hope that it is the correct type, buy a reconditioned unit with new battery and new pads at approx. £650 +VAT, or buy a new unit with new battery and pads at approx.. £1500.
It was proposed by Councillor J. Wilton and seconded by Councillor D. Keating that we purchase a reconditioned unit from Seal Medical Supplies and request they fit it when servicing the other unit.
Councillor J. Wilton offered that the reconditioned unit be delivered to his home for the engineer to collect.
Future grant funding for replacing the defibrillators was discussed and we agreed that this should be investigated in the next few years, as equipment has a limited lifespan.
Councillor Mrs M. Gilbert to liaise with Seal Medical
The meeting closed at 8.15pm.
