Safety On Cossall Roads

Print Page FriendlyPrint this page

Following the visit to Cossall made by Juliet Campbell MP, in the last week of July, she organised a further meeting. Nottinghamshire County Council’s Highways’ Manager, personnel from Via East Midlands and representatives from Juliet Campbell’s own office attended, together with Cossall Parish Councillors.

This meeting was very positive indeed and examined in detail the problems that Cossall’s winding narrow roads and narrow pavements cause, with regards to safety for all road and pavement users.

Whilst there is of course no magic solution to improving roads built originally for horse and cart to accommodate todays traffic, there are a number of small changes that could add up together to make some difference. We wait to hear what action the County Council will take, but areas discussed were additional signage, improvement to the traffic calming humps, white lines to guide drivers and encroaching vegetation cleared from pavements.
