Agreed Actions

Awsworth Parish Council to continue to chase the report from The Environment Agency about the canal water. Although this report has not yet been received The Environment Agency have corresponded that they are working with the landowner to mitigate problems and keeping the angling club updated with progress.

Awsworth Parish Council to continue to chase the drainage report from Avant Homes, concerning new drainage and silt bunds etc.

Contact details of the site manager of the sub-contractor P Hughes, to be sent by Avant Homes to the Parish Councils. Although, Broxtowe Councillor Don Pringle advised that the Building and Safety act amendment of 2022 had now come into force and the Health and Safety aspects relating to a construction site were the overall responsibility of the main contractor Avant Homes and not the sole responsibility of a subcontractor.

Councillor Pringle will obtain the Construction Management Plan from Broxtowe and circulate it to both Parish Councils.

Complaints received over the last month from Cossall’s residents were discussed. Further complaints and incidents regarding the construction site, to be reported immediately to Avant Homes, P Hughes and Councillors.

There were no new complaints from Awsworth’s residents.

Further complaints about the condition of the water in the canal to be sent to Borough and County Councillors.

Cossall Parish Council to send photos of the mud and stones on Newtons Lane to Broxtowe Borough Council Officers and ask why there is no wheel washer on site. This email to also be copied to Borough Councillors and Notts County Councillors.

Cossall Parish Council subsequently had the following reply –
“As long as the developers provide either regular road sweeps or jet washing facilities, the developer is not in breach of the Construction Management Plan. Any soil / debris coming from the wheels of the vehicles that is impacting the highway should be brought to the attention of the Highways Authority. A site visit will be carried out next week by an Enforcement Officer to monitor the site, and further unannounced visits will take place to monitor this situation”.
